Like X-Mas for Doomed Heavy and Heavy Doom

Mirror Of Deception, shEver, Bitterdusk, Cosmic Plunge, Kerbmaldarr

Doom Over Vienna XVIII – Day 1, Escape Metalcorner Wien, Austria 20241108

While Anderwelt present their new EP at Arena Dreiraum together with Diamond Skull, a beautiful traditional event goes down for the 18th time: the Doom Over Vienna invites to Escape for two days of funeral and death music, also printed on beautiful shirts again.

Like in 2021, Kerbmaldarr to the honors and open the festival once more. After the intro and hugs, they play songs from their debut „V“, some now with vocals, others instrumental. Their thanks go out to Willi for organizing, Nino for mixing and Bernd for the design and pictures, who is photographing as well as Caroline Traitler. Peak of their set is „Vinter“ and „Void“, which they savor with spoken words read from a book written by Quentin Tarantino

For Cosmic Plunge from Heraklion, Crete, it is the first time in Austria. The strokes in the face of singer Mike catch the eye. Starting mellow, their show turns to a highlight of great classic slow Doom with echoing vocals, screams and solos. An atmosphere to cherish, similar to Woe Unto Me

Then Bitterdusk from Santiago, Chile pick up the pace. So they spread even some Rock’n’Roll vibes with songs from their new album „Guardián del Valle“. With shEver from Switzerland, we go Slower again. Two huge voices burst the instrumental ground on new material or older songs like „Je suis née“ – I was born.

‚But you could as well be dead‘ could be the answer from Mirror Of Deception. They perform new ones like their single „Slow Winds“, but also celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album „Foregone“, pushing all air out of one’s body with the power of their sound.

Finally it is amazing to have this festival, as visitors talk about others like Hammer Of Doom or Get Wasted and Be Doomed and flyers advertise a research study on the genre. And the next day, the wonderful feast continues with Dark Nativity, VIIHB, BlackFlow, Old Night and Helevorn.
