La Bête (Mini EP 2024)
Dronte et Raoul Sinier
Acoustic Post Metal Experimental Progressive Noise Trip Hop
Sometimes it feels like most corners of (heavy) music have been already explored. But some manage to create a certain new feeling. Combining ideas of acoustic Rock like Sevendust, Seether or MTV Unplugged of Korn with Electro Hip Hop impacts, this new Mini EP continues the way of „Quelque Part Entre La Guerre E La Lâcheté“ and „Dés – Astres“.
Once more, Dronte teamed up with an expert on another field for „La Bête“. This time it is Raoul Sinier, the ‚digital painter‘ taking inspiration from even more genres as his album „Covers“ proofs. It is a new experiment, crafted at Le Pain de Mie and finished at Climax Mastering, distributed by P.O.G.O. records and with help from Lilys Management and Entertainment.
Graphics and illustrations come from Benoît Bedrossian. When we were young, we already learned about unreal characters from Disney, Erwin Moser, „Ghostbusters“ or Edvard Munch. On a structure, where even more scary faces can be found, two eyes and a mouth wide open are crossed by fine black lines and dark red colour. But what is it to fear?
The record consists of two songs in two versions, one with vocals, one instrumental. First we talk about „Perspective“, that opens up with charismatic beat and bass, combined with noises making think of Paul Plut. We hear the words of Jopil Lastec and melodies of more instruments weaven in.
Emotions come from the vocals and the beautiful instrumental parts like Marc Perin. Suddenly, everything explodes with wild growls like Opeth. But only for short time before the decay. Then the title „Révolution“ and returning guitar reminisce of „Duck, You Sucker“, with a dark Doom heart like Ayyur, NŪR or Isole.
This is mixed with a pulsating Old School beat like from Naughty By Nature and again the vocals on top. In the middle, the slow emerges from a cave in the underground like an undead. Many things happen at the same time, still beat and bass are the center like in the beginning.
Another decay, and then another final rebellion on the vocal version: a short and scary scream from the depths of the cave – of the Dronte, rising at Backstage By The Mill with CtrlAltSuppr.
