Beautifully Creeping Death Beneath The Surface

Father Befouled, Fossilization, Sněť, Fessus

Immaculate Leprosy European Tour 2024 presented by TON Music Productions and Killtown Bookings at Viper Room Vienna, Austria 20241003

Finally the autumn of concerts takes off. As unfortunately Truckfightersdid not work out as originally planned‘, The Underground Youth and Boysetsfire would be options for this Thursday. Yet reading the fantastic description on the Viper Room website comparing the music with a hit by Bud Spencer, the ‚Immaculate Leprosy‘ tour appears to be the best choice.

Four bands exploring the various veils of death invite to relax the neck with gentle headbanging and clear the mind with equally gentle rhythms. Compared to Carcass and Autopsy, the local support Fessus does not take long to get the audience on their side with beautiful Slayeresque riffs, titles like „Pilgrims of Morbidity“ and the last ‚Amoral Entity‘ shirts at the merchandise table.

As if the Viper Room is not underground enough, Sněť from Prague, Czech Republic pick up speed and take it to greater depths and up to the ceiling. For short time, a pit appears including a crowdsurfer and generally, the direction seems to point the way for the second half of the evening.

Fossilization from São Paulo, Brazil are the first of the Everlasting Spew Records twin pack. Their wonderfully rolling Death Doom covers the cellar room like a blanket. To intensify the atmosphere, they indicate, that the front lights should be cut off. And so the brutal beat rumbles through the dark like Spectral Voice as stated on the website.

Part two of this double feature of heavy Death Metal concreting comes from Atlanta, Georgia. Father Befouled continue this mighty fine ride with tracks like from the brand-new EP „Immaculate Pain“ and lead it to the end. And soon, the next shows of TON include acts like Firtan, Liquid Steel, Alcest, Xandria, Oranssi Pazuzu or Dark Funeral, and Viper Room adds names like Scorpion Child, Dool, Woe Unto Me, The Vision Bleak, Nailed To Obscurity, Liquid Earth, Worm or The Röad Crew.
