Dive into a dream of hedgehogs and other beings
Khruangbin, Parcels, Lukas Oscar
A La Sala Tour presented by Arcadia Live, radio fm4 & Kurier, METAStadt Open Air Wien, Austria 20240717
Deep down the biggest district of Vienna, Donaustadt, the METAStadt has opened it’s doors for this year’s Open Air concert series. After Cypress Hill and Jungle, Arcadia Live hosts a highlight for fans of (Instrumental) Funky Psychedelic Soul Electro Pop Rock.
Songs from likes of alt-J and Peter Bjorn And John spread good vibrations, before Lukas Oscar gets on stage first. He just performed at Musik am Fluss and the following week at Popfest. Accompanied by a guitarist, he starts playing the piano, adding his emotional voice. Between, he tells personal stories like that he sometimes feels like a hedgehog on the freeway A2 and the approaching cars are his feelings.
On 8th November, he will celebrate the release of his debut at B72 and then he happily makes place for Parcels. Originating from Australia, they have a handheld camera displayed live on screen for the whole show, beginning behind the stage. „IknowhowIfeel“, „Myenemy“ and „Lightenup“ pierce one’s mind as they sing with several voices.
They spent a nice afternoon as they tell and enjoy this last show of the tour, standing together doing percussions and serving more hits with „Tieduprightnow“ and „Overnight“. The Weekend, they were at Bilbao BBK Live alongside Massive Attack, The Prodigy, Grace Jones and Khruangbin. The trio serves as headliner tonight, presenting most of the songs from their new album „A La Sala“.
„May Ninth“, „Juegos y Nubes“ and „Hold Me Up (Thank You)“ cast their hypnotizing effect on the crowd. Clouds, trees and fire pass the three arc-like windows at the back of the stage. With „Evan Finds the Third Room“, „Time (You and I)“, „María También“ and „People Everywhere (Still Alive)“, they close a beautiful evening of dreamy dancing to a summer soundtrack. And it will continue with Air and Paul Kalkbrenner.
