The Godslayer’s Oath (Single 2026)

Sanaga

Death Metal

Spring is near and bursts winter’s roughness with fresh Death Metal from the Great White North. Dom of Thrash Metal titans Meet The Mailman shares his new band, gathering the Québec City Death Crew.

Sanaga is a river in Cameroon and a place in Buryatia. Not to confuse with Finnish Progressive Doom group Sapata, Sanaga now also is a bandname and unleashes its debut single entitled „The Godslayer’s Oath“. Mixed and mastered by Jeff Dagenais of Kataklysm (who are currently touring with Vader), the song cover shows a hooded figure hovering above a lake with other ones trying to escape the water.

In the back, mountains close the valley like on artworks of „Pokin“, „Klåmm“ or „Open Gates“. The visualizer features two demons on both sides of the figure, and the single’s name written in a horror-like typography. As smoke fills the air, the song starts with a big intro riff and drums like Kreator would open.

The verse rumbles, very classic, reminding of other evil representatives like Deicide. The melodies add a Viking feeling, as Sanaga hit the gas pedal, stoned back to the Dark Age. Most interesting part comes in the middle of the five minutes and fourtyseven seconds, entering with Blackened vocals.

Then the instrumental guitars take over, flashing the beginning, preparing for an epic final. As the drums pressure, the speed comes to the peak. Like Chaos Over Cosmos, the organic Québec City Death Metal echoes back from the mountains through the valley.

Now that the ice on the lake is gone, the figure screams for one last time like the Häx invented by junkXfilms. Through the fog, the mild light of spring shines for an exciting future of Sanaga, exporting their Death Metal from North to South and beyond.
