Sometimes you need some luck, especially if planning is not really your thing. So as the concert this Tuesday has been sold out for a while, it takes exactly the right moment to receive a ticket on TicketSwap. But then, you can set off full of anticipation, fueled by U-Bahn-Star Teddy Bear Cove accompanying Nightwish on cello.
Enjoying the mild evening on the terrace, the new Jack White single complements the atmosphere. And soon, the show begins, brought to you by Arcadia Live, who host Mar Malade at WUK and The Kolors at SimmCity this evening as well. So Good show fascists their middlefiner with „Hate!“, stamp the ground and show attitude. With guitarist, drummer and two dancers, they play ‚Ignorant Brat Pop – the Future of Degenerative Punk‘.
Not only do they present their upcoming single „I rewrote the Bible“, they also dedicate „1994“ to Skunk Anansie, who commented on the video of Lenny Kravitz in Vienna. The legendary band has a message as well and established itself as live (festival) highlight in the 90s already.
So the hall is filled to the rafters, when the spider Anansi appears on the back and spikes stick up on stage. Already the first one or two songs grab a hold like „Because of You“ or new songs from the forthcoming album „The Painful Truth“ like „An Artist Is An Artist“.
They explain, that we are all equal and so Skin can be ‚black and beautiful [smiles] and gay‘. More of the Alternative Rock Crossover hymns include „Weak“ and „I Can Dream“ from their debut and „My Ugly Boy“. The famous „Hedonism“ must not be missing, and at the end, they return twice for Led Zep’s „Whole Lotta Love“ and „Little Baby Swastikkka“ and once more for „You Follow Me Down“.
Like Lenny Kravitz, Skin gets down to the audience and demonstrates the difference between listening a (live) record and the actual live experience. The words ‚the opera is in me‘ from Bono of U2 suddenly get another meaning and photos by Chérie Hansson and Diana Horst are silent evidences.
