Extralarge Fan Meeting in Alps Town
Dune Buggy Band, Mads
Spencer Hill Film Festival 2025 – Day 1, Kino Bludenz, Austria 20250517
It is mid of May and an eventful weekend in Vorarlberg: In Feldkirch, the ‚Montfortspektakel‘ celebrates medieval times with live music like Corvus Corax years ago or the movie „Rhigold“ in this edition. And in Bludenz, the Spencer Hill Festival honors the life and achievements of the two cinema heroes Bud Spencer and Terence Hill.
„When I was young“, my grandfather introduced me to the film world of the two Italians Carlo Pedersoli and Mario Girotti. And like for probably few hundred other fans, it is a world of fun and well-being. Jorgo and Marcus, the stars of Karl-Martin Polds „Sie nannten ihn Spencer“, are guests at the festival at and around the Kino Bludenz.
Apart from movie screenings, it offers a whole lot more: free beans and a key fob on entrance, „Slaps and Beans 2“ gaming, photo spots, merchandise and even the possibility to take a ride with the legendary dune buggy, that can be won at the Spencerhill festival in Ilmenau by Bud Spencer Museum Berlin.
After the sausage and beer contest, the Dune Buggy Band soundchecks „Sheriff“ on the stage in Bludenz, while the title-giving movie is screened inside next to „Two Missionaries“. The film is not only about the car, but also about defending territory, in this case the Luna park, like St. Marx in Vienna.
Then Mads from Seattle takes the stage and gets the audience on his side rapping like ‚the real slim shady‘ and with Blues standards like „All Along The Watchtower“. The year before, a supergroup consisting of members from likes of The Flight Of Apollo and klOnk performed the hits of Oliver Onions and more.
Now the Dune Buggy Band takes this part, starting their show with costumes and film clips with „They Call Him Trinity“. The list of hits is endless, and so the fantastic group spreads good vibes with songs and scenes from „… All the Way, Boys!“, „My Name Is Nobody“, „I’m for the Hippopotamus“, the „Flatfood“ series, „Soldier of Fortune“, „Bomber“, „Who finds a friend finds a treasure“, „Renegade“ and of course „Il Coro dei Pompieri“ (with sheets) and „Dune Buggy“ from „Watch Out, we’re mad“.
Speaking of „… All the Way, Boys!“ They show the cinema version as final surprise movie of day 1. So the years of love for the films (and music) and the fab organization of the festival leave the fans with the wish to return in on 14th until 16th May 2026.
