And I’m not quite sure where my conscience lies
The Hedonist, EU/UK Tour 2026 presented by paradigm concerts at Club Lucia Vienna, Austria 20260410
Last Friday, April 10th, those who were at Club Lucia experienced what would eventually become one of those Cult Shows, “The first time that The 113 came to Vienna”. One of those shows that, in the future, would be part of conversations in the mode of “I was one of the lucky ones” when revisiting the past.
This show was that and more. The second I stood a foot outside the venue, the first thing I did was yapping about how mind-blowing I was. The 113 (the one-thirteen) is one of those bands that sound great on record, powerful and intense, with catchy basslines and hypnotic rhythms. But little did we know what we were about to witness live.
First thing to point out is how tight the songs are played, in the sense that it sounded like the metronomic talent of Jack Picton (drums) was keeping them all contained, only to let Josh (bass) set the pace and enhance the power. And that same contention only made the voice of Jack Grant resonate in our cranial walls, almost like a cry out yell, but with the deepness and intention of a desperate ranting poet.
Setlist-wise, the night started with Leach, the first single of their new EP, The Hedonist (2026). A perfect song to display the above-mentioned resonant contention of energy. No second thoughts of what this was about, Vacant from their first EP, To Combat Regret (2025), followed.
Then the 2023 single, Futility, that somehow reminds me of the Bristolians Idles and their manifest preaching. Jumping back and forward on their repertoire until closing it with the banger Conscience.

To conclude, if you’re reading this and have a chance to see them live. Do not think it twice.
Shout out to Rokko for the invite and organization of this mind-blowing show.
