80 Years Of Lemmy – 10 Years Lemmy Memörial at Viper Room Vienna, Austria 20251227
At the end of the year, there are some final traditional events like the Stay Sick Festival. Another one started ten years ago, as Lemmy left this world at seventy: the memorial party, this time again going down at a sold out Viper Room.
Watching the documentary is a good way to celebrate or attending the birthday bash on 24th December at the very place. For the memorial, again Bernie Luther designed the poster. Sounds of Thin Lizzy and others prepare for the fantastic night of Rock’n’Roll.
As Mädhouse had to cancel, the ‚high-flyer‘ Vulvarine took the place as support. Since the DLC Metalfest, they published their new album „Fast Lane“ and toured excessively with Thundermother, on festivals like Area 53, Tolminator, Wacken and Full Metal Holiday and in their hometown with Igel vs. Shark and Stevo & The Shotlights.
After singer Suzi Q left, Pipi Gogerl (Ancient Fragments, former Fading Synergy) jumped in like Mario Gidić (Rämbow) on guitar. Now Lauree Blaze is the new official member, bringing an amazing energy on stage, like live member Olga Vuchkan. Highlights are „Polly the Trucker“, Girlschool’s „Emergency“ or „Heads Held High“, and midway, they thank Johannes Kirchner (Bunt Cunnies) for the sound and Max Fuchs (Titan Killer) for the merchandise.
Since the beginning, The Röad Crew plays the Motörhead classics at the Memörial. Like Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, Mikkey Dee with Friends, Bömbers, Motörheadache, Motörbeard, Motörkill, Motörizer, Mötherhööd or MoStörhead, who perform in Wiener Neustadt the very evening.
Playing about thirty songs, basically every single one is a hit: the iconic „Metropolis“, bandname giving „(We Are) The Road Crew“, „Love Me Forever“, „Hellraiser“, „Killed By Death“, „R.A.M.O.N.E.S.“, „Ace Of Spades“, „Overkill“, „Motörhead“.. On guitar Julian Malkmus (Wildhunt) does a great job, like several guests from Küenring or Vulvarine do as well.
Starting in 2012, The Röad Crew never managed to see Motörhead together. But they keep carrying the spirit, like to ‚Ozzy Forever – A Tribute To The Prince Of Darkness‘ at ((szene)) in February.
