The small town of Bludenz. Situated between beautiful mountains and famous for its chocolate and the center of the third big beer brand of Vorarlberg. The kids of the region whether visit the Join Nenzing or the Villa K for concerts, but also the Remise featured e.g. local rock heroes Raze and in the near future Voodoo Jürgens. And this evening two young acts from Vienna, Salzburg and Vorarlberg play at the very place.

gab&gal appear as three piece tonight, but the set singer gab starts all alone for the first song. Then they recall how happy they are to be back on stage together, and how they love to present the new or let’s say latest material. The “Monday Blues” is as well part of the list as the already heard and well-received “June” next to the classics “London Town”, “Revenge Of The Pope”, “15 Years”, “Glass Of Wine”, “It Keeps Me Down” and their final Gorillaz-Cover “19-2000”, wonderfully mixed by Fabian Squinobal. Next concert the boys will play with Juleah at the Saumarkt Theater where for example Mose and Ezra Furman excelled.

There are some things both bands of the line-up got in common. One is that also the singer of Gospel Dating Service, Christoph Ertl first plays and sings alone. Second is that as their support they claim how much fun it is to be on stage again and especially in Vorarlberg. After a gig at the Carinisaal and one at the Dynamo Festival it is their third time so far. Last year, the band won the Heimo Erbse prize and they are featured on the Xtra Ordinary sampler. This night, the female dominated front area dances excited, and some hairs are flying like at a Metal concert, even so the sound is more like the one of the Indie group Cold War Kids, who are from Whittier, CA like Skeletal Remains. Also GDS presents new songs from their upcoming album that will be released this summer already and they have been working on all the time lately. Especially one nearly dark stomping tune presented in blue light makes one look forward to the new output after the acclaimed “Champagne”.
