Midsummer Lake Metal
Nummirock Metal Festival 2025 – Announcement
Nummijärvi Kauhajoki, Finland 20250618-21
Finland is the country with the most Metal bands per inhabitant. Stone, Children Of Bodom and many more cemented its status. Live action can be found in the clubs of the cities like Monttu in Pori, Vastavirta in Tampere or On The Rocks in Helsinki. And when dusk never gives way to darkness, festivals like Tuska or SaariHelvetti quench the thirst for heavy music.
Halfway from Tampere to Vaasa and on one line with Jyväskylä, the Nummirock is situated. The ‚only real‘ Metal summer open air in Finland, as a local ones put it. Looking back at almost 40 years of history since 1987, uncountable legendary names like Girlschool, The Ramones, Slash, Iron Maiden, Sepultura, Slayer, Motörhead, Entombed, DevilDriver, Morbid Angel or Venom did their honors.
2025, the signs are good for brutal four days next to the peace of lake Nummijärvi: Alestorm is a regular in the festival summer and is written in the center. On top as well are Cattle Decapitation, Kanonenfieber and the Black Metal Institution Marduk. Already on evening number one, likes of Assemble The Chariots will roar across the waters.
On Thursday, the main stage opens up as well with The Man-Eating Tree from Oulu. Highly anticipated is the set of Anal Vomit from Peru and at prime time, Bloodred Hourglass from Mikkeli will howl loudly. Core days are Friday and Saturday, starting with ‚Rockjooga‘, ‚Krabelibingo’ and ‚Stand-Uppia’ at ‚Kaos Klubi‘.
A returning guest is Before The Dawn, who toured with Swallow The Sun and Stam1na recently. Deathcore by Signs Of The Swarm, Decapitated, Patriarkh and Fit For An Autopsy will follow. Punctually as midsummer rings in, Mokoma from Lappeenranta will begin.
Oranssi Pazuzu will be a highlight in this night as well, before the final day breaks: Heavysaurus play one sold-out show after another. Cemetery Skyline is the wonderful Gothic Rock supergroup founded by members of Amorphis, Omnium Gatherum and Dark Tranquillity.
The list of names continues with King Satan, Korpiklaani, Turmion Kätilöt and many, many more. If that was not enough motivation, there is also a sauna village. So nothing stands in the way of an outstanding festival experience under infinite twilight.
