Display of High-octance Live Energy

Airbourne, Asomvel

„Gutsy“ presented by Mind Over Matter at Planet TT Raiffeisenhalle im Gasometer Wien, Austria 20260205

Handmade Hard & Heavy Rock’n’Roll is in high demand, as the sold out general standing area of the Gasometer shows. It is the next Mind Over Matter show at the very place after Alter Bridge one week before. Stacks of Marshall amps build a wall on stage, as tracks by likes of Iron Maiden fill the air.

Tonight’s British support Asomvel is highly anticipated: Founded in the 90s, the band lost their original singer Jay-Jay Winter very early, so his nephew Ralph stepped in. With Motörhead-driven songs like „True Believer“ from their 2009 HPS release or their latest „Born To Rock ’n’ Roll“, they conquer the world, touring e.g. with Wolfmother or playing The Underworld next to The World’s End

Their live performance truely is ‚high-octane‘ from the very first second they run on stage. As they go „Louder & Louder“, Ralph tells it is his first time in Austria and „If It’s Too Loud, You’re Too Old“. „Outside the Law“ reminds of the series „Fargo“, and many songs are new like „Set your World on Fire“. Ralph also climbs down the stage closer to the fans to „Light ’Em Up“.

As „The Nightmare Ain’t Over“, the four-piece later takes time to take photos and sign their deluxe edition vinyl. After looking so much forward, this show was totally worth everything. Then the Australian headliner Airbourne follows. They began their rise in the early 2000s with likes of Volbeat, Black Stone Cherry or Billy Talent. Five albums, videos with Lemmy for example like Danko Jones, they tour with their new single „Gutsy“.

Known for their live qualities, they convince completely again as well like at the big festivals. For „Raise Your Flag“ singer Joel O’Keeffe takes a ride through the audience and a beer shower and „Diamond in the Rough“ celebrates its tour debut. Anyway there are many crowdsurfers and beer in the air as there is „No Way but the Hard Way“.

For „Live It Up“, they throw beer to the audience. And the list of following Gasometer concerts ist long, with names like Igorrr, Biffy Clyro, Jinjer, The Kooks, Avatar, Franz Ferdinand, Carcass, Machine Head, Sean Paul, Megadeth, Anthrax, Europe, Heaven Shall Burn, Amon Amarth and many more..
