It’s been six years, since the last visit at Vienna Metal Meeting of Netherlands most fantastic Dark Progressive Doom Rock band. Even seven since their show at DasBACH. Two tours were cancelled completely in the meantime. But now finally they return and the Viper Room logo is reflected in the tourbus window. 

Already during Hangman’s Chair, the support act from France, the basement gets filled until back at the bar. They like include noisy backing-tracks, they can smash with dramatic sound fusillades. Their bulky songs they present with a wild performance, with the steady light in calm situations, exploding in the extended instrumental parts like in the bass-based „Who Wants To Die Old“ or „Naive“. 

With „2 AM Thoughts“, they have a feature song with Raven Van Dorst of Dool (Prophecy Productions). Since their debut, they released two more albums available on vinyl or „Summerland“ even as CD-Book, an EP and a live recording „Visions of Summerland“. So tonight, they focus on their latest third longplayer „The Shape Of Fluidity“, starting with the fantastic „Venus in Flames“. 

From the older ones, „Wolf Moon“ and „The Alpha“ mark the first half of the set. The band including members of The Devil’s Blood shows itself playful, nailing it with more mighty tunes like the low and heavy „Hermagorgon“ or the driving „Oweynagat“. The joy of finally seeing them live again is nearly overwhelming. Next year, it is possible to convince oneself of their energy e.g. at Rock Hard Festival. 

The concerts is the third in a row after Lilac Vegetal and Leoniden the days before and completes the hat trick. For sure, the next Dool visit has to be sooner than the six years that have been between this time. At the Viper Room, the Saturday evening continues with another edition of Jumpdafuckup.
