In Danger Of Collapse (Album 2025)

Heimwerker

Post Apocalyptic Province Punk Hard Rock Metal

Back in the 90s, „Home Improvement“ shaped television like other sitcoms such as „The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air“, „Family Matters“ or „King of Queens“ towards the end of the decade. DIY is still a thing and forms the basis for the name and appearance of a special ‚Post Apocalytic Province Punk‘ (like Symphonic Postapocalyptic Reindeer Grinding Christ Abusing Extreme War Pagan Fennoscandian Metal) project from Klagenfurt, Carinthia.

Hard hats are mandatory when Heimwerker arrive like at Gailklang, Ventil, with Euroteuro or soon with Motörhead tribute band MoStörhead at Saurock in Wolfsberg. Apart from the EP „…That’s Why We Have A Singer“ and a dozen live recordings, they put out their debut „In Danger Of Collapse“. The ominous title is visualized on the cover with a ‚dystopian future on a meadow near St. Kanzian’

Their logo is a skull like La Catrina, smoking with a helmet and crossed wrench and stick or cue. Similar colorful are the sixty-three minutes of music, ringing in with an Industrial Noise intro. The „Black Sheep in My Funky Galaxy“ reminds of the Dark Comedy movie, with lo-fi roots like the end of radio and Exploited energy. Electronic sounds like in „Further & Further“ add a gaming feeling like on PC or at arcades, while the vocals in „Why Does It Feel So Wrong!?“ bring up „Three Little Pigs“ by Green Jelly.

Within the fifteen tracks, Heimwerker bring in keys in „Heavy Metal Band“, Black’n’Roll flavors in „The Beast“, Tarantino Surf vibes in „Bob-She Whoa-Whee“ and a LagwagonSmile“ in „I Hate My Band“. The riffs have soundtrack quality like Franco Micalizzi, Girlschool or The Cramps. Still hungry like Pac-man, the outro comes with Noise and spacy jazzy sounds like a Horror Sci-Fi movie ending with the „Predator“.

Raw like Black Metal, anarchistic as Punk, Heimwerker deliver a fine potpourri. Nihilistic fun, like Rollins Band meets Uh! Batman. Not too sure what to expect, but heavy entertainment ahead.
