Sometimes the change of name rings in a new era. Saron Gas turned to Seether, when they moved from South Africa to the US for example. Some years after coming „A Little Bit Closer“ known as San Chills, a musician kicks off 2025 with a fistful of songs. Welcome to the Wild West Country of France. 

„Murky“, „River“ and „Bonker“ is the musical triumvirate, that started the series. With „Shine a Light on my Mind“, shortly followed by „Truth is Expensive“, Jonas shows the positivity of his (new) identity. Guitar and voice are still the main piers, that build everything. From the very start, the song holds a lot of references like Blues Rock legends The White Stripes and The Raconteurs with the farm house in „Steady, As She Goes“ by Jim Jarmusch. The speed of the rhythm is of Country Joe McDonald at Woodstock 1969 or Razorlight at Rock im Park 2007, with the strumming like DuoLia. on their debut.

The country Americana feeling the song spreads, can be found in likes of Yunger, Steaming Satellites, Reignwolf or Chickenfoot, with the voice bringing up Kaleo. Jonas’ approach partly even is close to Gospel and rooted in this musical history like Mauri Dark. So it works at a bonfire cooking some coffee just the way like in a bar sipping Whiskey. 

Like Sam Chalcraft at The Golden Harp, Jonas plays at La Casetta du Pré in Le Pré-Saint-Gervais. The atmosphere of unique places combined with this kind of guitar music beckons its very own fans. This way, it literally shines a light on one’s mind, the fireplace in the prairie, the counter in the pub, the cloudy night, the shady dream. And the journey of Jonas has just begun, carrying the light on a way based on old tales, holding future fables.
