Schaffarei Festival 2024 – Day 3

Where once ago the youth could spend its leisure time at the Graf Hugo, nowadays the Schaffarei is situated, a house for working culture. In the sense of the original spirit of the house, that was full of music, they celebrate a three days open air festival. Between the buildings with foodtrucks and bands like Steaming Satellites, Yasmo & die Klangkantine or Os & The Sexual Chocolates, the lineup mixes local and national names. 

On Saturday, the afternoon starts with DJ Socke23 like the days before. Then it is about finest Ländle Hip Hop by Diggerue known for „Endlich raus“ or more recently „Kassettenkinder“. Like it should be for a Rap show, he is not alone but gets joined by MC Pille One of linksabbiegA and others. Then the problem of free concerts hits in, as Felix Kramer plays a nice Singer-Songwriter set about holidays and reasons, but has to remind the audience to listen bit closer. 

Still for those who do listen, the sound of the ‚Hamburger Schule‘ with Voodoo Jürgens references is more than enjoyable. After, beats of Moby fill the last break before headliner Ankathie Koi. With her band featuring Nick Ratterton (k), Ross Van Boss (b) and Michi Schatzmann (d), she marked a highlight this spring at the Wiener Konzerthaus, recently at Volksstimmefest and soon another at Porgy & Bess. 

Starting with the album opener „Tiefer“ from „Pikant“, she introduces her drummer as ‚Vorarlberg Original‘. „Viktoria“, „Baby Boy“ follow like a keyboard solo. Also from the new album, the fans celebrate „Amour Fou“, „Rette Sich Wer Kann“ and „Tanz Dich Rein“. And no matter the stage, Ankathie Koi does her Rock star moves throughout the fog, including the final stage dive.
