Vacunt, Los Flixs, 2nd Class Substitutes

Three decades and still going strong: the Arena Beisl Bierwoche is a place to hang out, make friends and discover great music. This year started with the Punkmonday featuring Gusch, Black Rabbit Tuesday with Cadû and Brewtality on Wednesday. So while Authority Zero plays at Chelsea, Bodyjar at Viper Room and Agnostic Front at the big hall of Arena, the small Open Air stage is set up for some more Punkrock. 

Like the big one, the top corners of the stage are flanked with pirate skull flags. As beer of the day, Grieskirchner Pils is served, as 2nd Class Substitutes enter. They have several records out like „Dead end street“ and usually appear as quartet, only today, they perform as trio. With a lot of humor, they present also new material like „Lifeline“, „Evolution In Reverse“ and „Consumers Lament“ out on HC Worldwide. 

Second band tonight are Los Flixs. They were part of the Damenspitz 4 years anniversary and frequent guests at Venster99. With members from Chile, Argentina and Vorarlberg, they score with fast dual singing and songs like „Bla Bla Bla“ or „pelusa“ from their 2021 demo. 

Finally Vacunt from Linz are Bierwoche regulars like in 2010, 2013 or 2021. So for them it feels like playing for the 20th time with tunes like „Dr. Krise“. Before „Spray Paint“, they assert that some things have improved, like that ‚skate and Hardcore are no longer men’s club‘ – ‚women to power‘! More highlights are „Young, Gifted & Broke“, „Don’t Throw Your Points Away“ and „Fuck The Fakes“. 

And as the crowd from Agnostic Front joins the show in the yard, it feels like one big Punk party followed by the Vensterday including Urban Misery and then two more to go on the weekend, under another artwork by Bernie Luther.
