Cooled Souls vanish in the Summer Night
Wyatt E., The Devil’s Trade
Presented by Roadtrip To Outta Space, Arena Wien – Dreiraum, Austria 20250610
Roadtrip To Outta Space is a guarantee for outstanding and fantastic shows at the Arena. The line-up always features the who-is-who of the Stoner scene like the recently announced Naxatras and everything beyond. So a regular Tuesday can turn to another special experience as well.
The Devil’s Trade was part of the concert series about a year ago supporting Stoned Jesus and Dopelord. It will be the last show for the next months with full band. Dávid Makó practices his German: „Dankeschön. Grüß Gott!“ He announces the new album for November on Pelagic Records, including the song „All This Sadness Will Be Gone“.
As it doesn’t work perfectly, he recounts a graffiti in the backstage room of a venue in Hamburg saying: ‚I’m writing from the future, don’t play the new song‘. The beautiful „Flashing Through the Lack of Light“ and „Liminal“ follow. Coming to the final song, he laughs telling he prefers when people don’t clap and becoming political, he hopes everyone is ‚on the same side‘.
Then it is time for the psychedelic Drone Doom Metal formation Wyatt E. from Belgium, named after the Wild West lawman. They not only were featured on The Raw Stuff compilation, but released their latest album „zamāru ultu qereb ziqquratu Part 1“ through Heavy Psych Sounds and promoted by Purple Sage PR in the beginning of the year.
They build huge walls of sound with exotic harmonies, spacy effects, bongos and pedalboard. With their costumes and the distorted vocals, they strengthen the mysterious atmosphere. At a point, they change instruments, and probably no-one played the bottleneck that elegant before.
As their humming fades away, the arms are raised in order to say goodbye. The repetitive and mediative music relaxed the hearts and souls of the concert guests, as they vanish in the summer night.
