Tilda (Album 2026)
Prinz Grizzley
Alt-Country Folk Americana Blues
Where the sun settles in the Wild West of Austria is the country Vorarlberg. Through the Achraintunnel, another world can be reached: the Bregenzerwald. The area is characterized by forests and mountains like the mighty Kanisfluh. From this special place, one musician set out, to distribute his vision of American Folk and Blues.
Before he found this field of music for himself, Prinz Grizzley had success with Grizzley & The Kids and especially Golden Reef already like Yunger with All Faces Down. With Johannes Bischof, he still performs together, and with his albums like „Come on in“, he toured with likes of Seasick Steve and even made it overseas.
Now Rola Music promotes his latest record „Tilda“ like they did e.g. with his compatriots from Fiesta Forever. The artwork hides a beautiful story, as it took a lot of research to find photographer Richard Lasher. His son Jeff then finally send the permission with best wishes of his dad.
The photograph shows the eruption of Mount St. Helens. A car and a motorcycle are parked right across the street, while artist- and album title are written in blood-red letters across the entire width of the cover. Fourteen songs strong, „Put Me Down (A Foreign Man)“ starts the trip to foreign lands, yet familiar, with a banjo like The Devil’s Trade and an accompanying music video.
In this amount of tracks, all ways are open, from Indie like Kodaline, or Bluegrass Rockabilly like The Deadbeatz, to slow melancholy like Johnny Cash or Paul Plut in „A Mountain To Be Tamed (The Struggling)“. As an absolute highlight of the album, it is the perfect choice for another video clip.
With strumming and slides, „Moon Over Green Mountains (Falling In Love)“ continues more elated. „The Long March (Troubled Times Ahead)“ brings in the true Wild West with whistling and brass, the fascination of Ennio Morricone or Carlo Rustichelli, like Johnny Indigo has it.
Prinz Grizzley holds surprises until the end, but never loses track. His lyrics include part of his family history. With this experience, „Tilda“ convoys every traveller, who is not afraid of adventures, and who doesn’t give in, but rides into the sunset in the end.
