Payday (EP 2026)

Rattlesquad

Heavy Hard Blues Rock

Athens, the cradle of democracy. Epochal ruins are all around. Hills offer a view of the city, Revithada tastes incredibly, cafe visits lead to talks about Candlemass, record stores serve legendary LPs and fairies go from Piraeus to the popular holiday islands. This is the breeding ground for warm guitar sounds, that have all the vibes pure Hard n’ Heavy Rock’n’Roll needs.

Three years have passed since the debut album „1233“ by Rattlesquad. On the cover of the new „Payday“-EP containing four songs, the image displays nobs, a twenty-dollar bill and a note with the title written on it. ‚RS – Rattlesquad Athens – Rock’n’Roll‘ it says in and around a brushed circle. The Wild West style will be also there acoustically, like within the artwork, that reminds of „Blaze Of Glory“, „The Return Of The Magnificent Seven“, „Cheapest Getaway“ or Johnny Indigo’s „American Daydreams“.

As the sound of „Mockingbird“ pours in, the excitement grows – and there it goes, the Stoner riff, the heavy Rock, close to early Metal or between likes of Nazareth and Slash. Rattlesquad greatly manage to mix this 70s flavors with fresh modern flows. Wide open meadows and stony cliffs that fall to the sea are there with the „Sound Of The Guns“, as the chorus evolves with a strong melody like from Black Stone Cherry.

The classic riffing goes on in „Payday“, where Airbourne, Danko Jones, The Hellacopters and Redd Kross send their regards. „Fight Or Flight“, the final title simply nails it. Drums for the intro, the bass hitting in, Rock’n’Roll in the style of Motörhead, Asomvel and related. Coming back to the start; in bit more than quarter an hour, Rattlesquad present the organic sound, the full volume and all the attitude, a (Southern) Hard & Heavy Rock EP takes.
