This Friday, the Arena is bursting at the seams: at Beisl is a Finnish Punk triumvirate lead by Appendix. At the small hall is Death above Erdberg with Catastrofear, Zerleger and more. No wonder that dressed in black, the securities ask if we are at the right concert in the big hall, presented by Spoon Agency. 

There, the spectacle starts with the Indie Funk band Rosmarin and their latest single „wie du da liegst“. They combine synthesizer with a Pink-Floydesque guitar and Eurodance rhythms with saxophone. It is the very first time, they are in Vienna with their likeable performance. But in January, they will go on tour again, and return to the Flucc. 

The mood is fantastic, as German classics like „Die perfekte Welle“, „Alles neu“ and „Nur Ein Wort“ as well as „Mr. Brightside“ fill the break. Members of the Leoniden are spottet among their fans, as they are back since the „Complex Happenings“ tour with their new album „Sophisticated Sad Songs“. 

On the very day before, they played a fm4 surprise concert in Graz. It only takes them seconds, to reminisce why they are this outstanding live band. It’s the relentless energy, that is transferred to the audience, which is jumping and moshing all the time, so the band reminds them to ‚know your limits and respect the others‘. 

„Keep Fucking Up“ lets literally everyone bounce followed by more highlights like „Funeral“, „River“, „Never Never“ and „Sisters“. Then the piano is in the middle of the audience and they tell how they listened to the Metal bands soundchecking in the afternoon. 

Occasionally, they like to add snippets from „Since U Been Gone“ or „Call Me Maybe“ and after „L.O.V.E.“, the fans sing „A Million Heartbreak Songs“. Then they proof, it is possible to crowdsurf while playing the cowbells, and for „Kids“, they have to top up the pyro. After all, Leoniden are a band you have to see to acknowledge their live qualities, as it is not possible to explain everything, similar to OK Kid.
