Shame On The Country, Heavy Liberation

Demasiado Humano, Hiëna, Verrat

Presented by AIMD at rhiz Wien, Austria 20250107

It is a regular Tuesday in winter at the Viennese Gürtel. Some venues are still in holidays. At Kramladen, The Shaftons are amongst the first acts this new year. At Chelsea, a drink spans the time until rhiz opens with sounds of LP, Stone Temple Pilots and Cage The Elephant. But after, it is all about Hardcore, D-Beat and Crust Punk presented by AIMD

Number one of three bands on the billing is a highlight already: Verrat opened e.g. for Napalm Death and go full throttle from the start. They brought new material from an upcoming new album after „Zeiten der Leere“ with them and ask the listeners to step closer and take care of each other. Due to the recent political events, they also point out, that Austria has been a ‚Naziland‘ and unfortunately still is.

As the volume is high but clear, the screaming voices go straight into the ear canal. The same applies to Hiëna, who shared the stage with Verrat before. They add some variation with dual guitars and lower the pace in some parts. This results in even a kind of Sludge feeling like Crowbar, with the enthusiasm and devotion of Kvelertak

Headliner this evening are Demasiado Humano from Guatemala, a land forged in fire by Volcán de Fuego amongst others. It is their eighth and final show in eleven days and they prefer to play than to talk. Because in their country, they like to get wasted and dance, as they tell.

So they deliver another intense set, including „Grano“ about resistance basically in their home. But it applies to the situation in Austria as well they assert, as we have got an ‚interesting‘ goverment coming up. As they finish this beautiful night, they have three hours left until they have to be at the airport. And soon rhiz will host names like Opium Masala, Lilac Vegetal and Ultima Radio..
