A Night Of Sweat To Remember
Scream, Dim Prospects, 7 Sioux
Summer Tour 2026 at Chelsea Vienna, Austria 20260804
Tuesday evening and forty degrees on the thermometer. While Arena Beisl Bierwoche is going on with likes of TarLung, a truly legendary DC Hardcore Punk band visits Chelsea, advertised at the door with the tour posters. For only 22 euros, it is a night to remember.
From two support acts, 7 Sioux are the ones to start. They started in the 80s and released a new album just few months ago. The energy, they put in their live show is right there. “Stupid Little Hearts”, singer Rainer Krispel dedicates to his son, before the recent hit single “Recent Reasons”. He got many stories to tell and make the audience love. And soon, he will dance across the very stage again with Post alongside Low Life Rich Kids at Gürtel Nightwalk.
The second act is known as well: Dim Prospects (Noise Appeal Records) are regulars at Viennas Punk venues and warmed up for likes of Wonk Unit. So they do tonight, even though the air is burning at Chelsea anyway. Songs like “Eight Million Shitheads Can’t Be Wrong” from their split with Flowers in Concrete do the rest. In English and German, they rant on, and they will return as well, together with Dead Bob from Canada.
Headliners Scream (Dischord Records) evolved in the 80s as well, right in the DC Hardcore scene like Bad Brains, Black Flag or Minor Threat. Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters is not only a fan, but was part of the band, and guitarist Franz Stahl the other way around. With Late!, Dave Grohl also wrote „Just Another Story About Skeeter Thompson“, the bassist. The line-up further features singer Pete Stahl, Gizz Butt (g, Janus Stark) and Andrew Black (d, Straggler, Sunblind).
Again, there is so much energy coming from the stage, as they play their classics like from „This Side Up“ (1985) and new ones like from „DC Special“ (2023). Franz Stahl eats an apple between his solos, and they remember that they just had their EP „Complete Control Recording Sessions“ out when they played in the city in 2012.
‚When you get out of jail, it feels fucking good‘, they assert towards the end. And after they finish, they still take their time to hang around and talk to the fans, making this evening even more memorable.
