Gürtel Nightwalk XXVIII at Club Lucia / Chelsea / rhiz Wien, Austria 20260829
After Bierwoche, Kultursommer and the Platzkonzerte waits the final free concert evening in Vienna: every End of August, the Gürtel Nightwalk is announced by ORF-W, like the Gürtel Connection. So while Venster99 celebrates reopening, from Fania to B72, an awareness team and the SafeNow app take care of thousands of attendees.
‚Feier die Vielfalt‘ [celebrate the diversity] is the slogan this year. On four open air stages, Constant Confusion are among the ones to open. Lion Season, who supported Neps and appeared at Donauinselfest do the same at the backside of Club Lucia. Their are only one of two Tape Capitol Music acts, as Pure Chlorine (who did a feature with Ruhmer) will follow right away.
Meanwhile under the bridge near Chelsea, the ‚far-left nihilistic‘ Post (featuring 7Sioux member Rainer Krispel) got something to say and to ask: „Warum?“ They are „Umzingelt“ like Asterix and not part of „97 Prozent“, responsible for the „Dunkelheit“. As part of Voller Sound, they will play at Hausrock Festival in Ottnang soon.
On the same stage, Low Life Rich Kids (Las Vegas Records) come up featuring Bernhard Eder. Between, Katatropic are at Coco and soon at Ottakringer Brauerei, while Scrutch and Jonas Feurle are at Kramladen, where Bioglycerin will play next week too.
Outside rhiz, The Devastation are the highlight. Since supporting Year Of The Goat, Doom Over Vienna, Gasometer and Area53, their name is quite known. The space up to Josefstädter Straße is fully crowded, as they reveal the anger of Count Dracula – in one word: impressive!
Singer Demetra Cartsos spins records by likes of Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N’ Roses, UFO, Van Halen and Blue Öyster Cult after. Now as the open air shows are done, still all hell has broken loose, gathering the masses e.g at Café Carina for Liquid Stones, Psychamore, Banlieue d’amour or Satori Devils – or Donnerjam next week!
