Out in the fields is a place of peace and love and music. At the ‚Ranch Unterm Riadbom‘, the cultural association of the same name hosts shows of Alternative and Indie artists. The list includes names like Yunger, Ruhmer, jakuba feat. keeplove, Yellow Fleet, Stereo Ida and more. 

As the rain ends and the fire sparkles this Sunday, Forest Ray from Seattle, Washington stop by on their extended Send My Love Euro Tour, playing one of 24 shows in 25 days in 7 countries. To make the most of it, they even deliver an extended set, that takes a break in the middle. 

It starts with „Boots“ from their sixth album „Send My Love“, they just released in the beginning of the month. Because of singer Peter Sumics Croatian origin, „Windfucker“ is based on the swear word ‚jebivjetar‘. Their Country Folk Americana (partly similar to Johnny Indigo or Prinz Grizzley), they spice up with several voices, slide guitar and mouth harp. 

As rhythms change and the pace goes up, Forest Ray tell that the local beer is the best: Frastanzer. With „Reasons“, they serve another new one before the break. In the second set, there is more influences to find like The Beatles, The Who or R.E.M. in „Float Away“. 

With „Pass Me By“, they come to their regular end, but add a cover as encore. At the merchandise table, they have vinyls and beautiful tour shirts with the poster design by Lord Čardak / Čardak Studios. The warm sound of Forest Ray simply seems to be made for the venue, fitting there perfectly like the band-name itself. 

So while the evening at the Ranch continues with the vinyl DJs gal & ben, who spin likes of Foo Fighters, Black Sabbath or Ray Parker Jr., the band has the next stop in Dresden the day after. But until the fire goes down, there are many friendly faces at the Ranch Unterm Riadbom.
