The weather finally found its right temperature in Vienna and down the Thaliastraße and the parks a lot of people enjoy the sun. And while at DasBACH only a poster for the Venster 99 reminds of the concert culture, the sold out Ottakringer Brauerei gathers together many mainly young Old School German Hip Hop fans.

Pretty much two years ago, Samy Deluxe played at this hall, and this night, it’s Kool Savas. The 44-year-old from Aachen (hometown of Bold Sun) was a pioneer already in the 90s for new acts like De Facto, RAF Camora, GZUZ, Summer Cem or Capital Bra. The style has changed, but the complex lyrics and punchlines of Savas make him the real rhyme monster.

Without any supporting act he gets on stage, motivated and full of energy, that carries away the audience. He is accompanied by a MC, a DJ, two background singers and a cameraman. Lately he collaborated with Sido, Azad or Xavier Naidoo, but this night his setlist also includes tunes from his latest record he released in Febuary named “KKS”. “Krieg und Frieden” and “Batman” convince as well as known hits like “Rapfilm”, “Futurama”, “Brainwash”, “Black”, “Mona Lisa”, “LMS”, “Baby ich bin ein Rapper“, “Schau nicht mehr zurück“, “Und dann kam Essah” or “Matrix”. He also covers the “Arschficksong” but refuses to play his diss against Eko Fresh “Das Urteil”. He tells that Falco is an inspiration for him and even sings the chorus of “Jeanny”.

With “Rhythmus meines Lebens” he says goodbye for the first time but then gets back on stage for few more songs and asks the audience to lighten the room with the mobiles for the final farewell “Aura”. His power is impressive, and the only pity is the acoustic in the hall, even though it has got a nice look and on the wall they advertise the Hilltop Hoods at Flex, which will host Onyx soon too.
