While at the Filmcasino, Indie fans can watch their icons like The Strokes and The Moldy Peaches in the documentary „Meet Me At The Bathroom“, Roadtrip To Outta Space has come up with another highlight after the Odyssey with Avalanche, Ryte, Grimms Eye, Lurch and Kobudai and the last goodbye of Parasol Caravan.

Hailing from Venice, known for its canals, specialities of cuttlefish and shrimps, Piazza San Marco with St Mark’s Campanile and as movie location, New Candys shoud not be confused with Swedish Death Candy. Even Iggy Pop praises them, and at the big hall of the Arena they show why. With „Aphrodite In Leather“ they get close to the Godfather of Punk, while other songs in their set have a Shoegaze touch or remind of Juleah or The Cure. Especially the bass takes you away, and as they played at Das Werk presented by Truepeaksounds the year before, it now seems very likely, that this was their last small club show.

The Black Angels coming on stage next have the Fuzz in their blood like the Fuzz Manta or Fu Manchu. Their music was used for movies and TV series, they toured with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and tonight, they present their latest album „Wilderness of Mirrors“ with highlights like „El Jardín“, „Without A Trace“, „The River“ and „100 Flowers of Paracusia“ making think of „From Dusk Till Dawn“ with Tito & Tarantula and The Blasters. Performing two third of the record, there is not enought time for more classics like „Currency“. But again, the power of the bass and of three guitars including a twelve-string one. It’s a great celebration of Psychedelic Garage Stoner tearing through the whole body.

Like this cathartic trip, more are on the horizon, including Swedish heavyweights Truckfighters, Colour Haze and Melvins, who will be on their 40th anniversary tour.
