The Resurrection of the Turn of the Millennium or Under Dirty Lights
Nova Rock Festival 2017
Pannonia Fields II, Nickelsdorf, Austria 2017-06-14-17
Middle of June, the festival season has begun, and so it is time for the biggest rock spectacle in Austria: The Nova Rock Festival lets the earth of the Pannonia Field II quake beyond borders.
Already on the 2016 established Warm-up Day, people pilgrimage down the dirty paths to the stage to get the party started with Airbourne, Steel Panther, Linkin Park and Fatboy Slim. With perfectly wonderful weather, the people celebrate right from the beginning.
On the first official day, early-motivated ones can check out brilliant shows of Avatar and DevilDriver from 2 pm on. Generally the Thursday is great for fans of extreme music. While the main stage lives up the turn of the millennium with Good Charlotte, Pendulum Live and Blink-182, In Flames and especially the veterans of Slayer, whose latest record “Repentless” is huge live, rock the Red Stage.
The second day presents a colourful mix of genres. In the afternoon, you can satisfy yourself of the new band of Austin Dickinson, As Lions. In the evening, the supergroup Prophets Of Rage and System Of A Down attract the people and get them to the Blue Stage. Next to them, the Beginner don’t let them spoil their mood and celebrate an intimate Hip Hop Party with a small crowd in the rain.
After the rain, the wind dominates on the fields, so a pullover is recommended on Saturday. While MC Bomber raps “Das große Fressen” on the third stage, Hard Rock luminaries Black Star Riders start on the Red Stage followed by Epica and Hatebreed. Meanwhile Rancid rock the main stage and after headliner Green Day get the audience sweating for the last time there.
The grand finale is Late Night Special David Hasselhoff, who already knew in 2014 how to win the rock fans and like that finishes another awesome Nova Rock Festival.
