Back in Time, packed for Future

In Flames, Arch Enemy, Soilwork

Rising From The North 2024 Tour presented by Mind Over Matter Music, Planet TT Raiffeisen Halle im Gasometer Wien, Austria 20241022

This autumn of concerts holds a huge Metal package in October. Melodic Death was invented in Sweden, and the Rising From The North Tour takes three heavyweights throughout Europe including Budapest, Prag Oslo and ending in Helsinki. In Vienna, Mind Over Matter holds the banner like for Dool and announce more on their flyers like Danko Jones, Terror, Behemoth, Iron Maiden or Sepultura.

The hall at Gasometer and the gallery are sold out at this ‚immersive experience‘. Luckily, some tickets are available on Fansale, to witness the start with Soilwork, who shared the very stage with likes of Kreator. Singer Björn „Speed“ Strid (also At The Movies) gets loud support by the crowd from the beginning. On songs like „Exile“ or their brand-new single „Spirit of No Return“ opening up the pit.

As metalheads are good and show up on time, the place is completely packed already and the photographers are guided to the front by securities. „Ace of Spades“ echoes from the speakers, then Arch Enemy jump in with „Deceiver, Deceiver“. Unfortunately, their show is interrupted for about 45 minutes after three songs due to technical problems. Still they manage to get back their fans, headbanging on the gallery as well and taking them to „Nemesis“.

Unsung“ rumbles through the rows, giving time to think about the time helping as stage hand at Tennis.Event.Center for Noctiferia and In Flames, watching Anders Fridén play connect four. Or even before, when they toured festivals like Szene and Nova Rock. Back with their new album „Foregone“, they tell that their sound engineer since ages is Austrian so ‚we trust Austrians‘.

Cloud Connected“, „Take This Live“ and „Deliver Us“ is the opening trilogy. The set goes way through their discography with „Only for the Weak“ followed by „Meet Your Maker“ in the middle. „Alias“ and „The Mirror’s Truth“ are still part as well. As someone expresses concerns, that most visitors are old: this size of Metal show might be difficult to afford for many nowadays. But there are young fans, celebrating pioneers like those.
