You Like Finnish Thrash Death Doom Metal Tuesday

„Shining Over Europe“ Tour MMXXV presented by Mind Over Matter Music at B72 Vienna, Austria 20250422

While the Unholy Trinity reaches Finnish shores, a triumvirate of the very country invades central Europe. Mind Over Matter not only promotes Focus. and Lumbematz at Chelsea this evening but provokes a usual picture at another location a little bit up north the Gürtel:

Dark dressed music fans gather in front of B72 for this Metal Tuesday, as Stam1na from Lemi name it. The Stone-inspired Progressive Thrash outfit visited the city back when on Octopussy tour. Now they return with the albums „X“ and „Novus Ordo Mundi“. Mixed with older songs like „Valitaan uudet vateet“; „Utopia“, „Taivas“, „Metropolio“, „Sirkkeli“ and more win the hearts of the dedicated Metal crowd.

After this almost nostalgic live moment in club atmosphere ‚on two levels‘, Before The Dawn from Nastola bring up their MeloDeath. As the place is crowded to the very back at the bar, the audience dwells with them in „My Darkness“. For the „Faithless“ they share their „Chains“ of „Stormbringers“, and with „Monsters“, they take the heavy underground one step lower.

So the B72 is ready to be doomed by Swallow The Sun from Jyväskylä. „Innocence Was Long Forgotten“, as they convince with brutal transitions and return with the hardest beats from quiet parts. „Don’t Fall Asleep (Horror, Part 2)“ and „Cathedral Walls“ mark the halftime of their set, and their ‚tribute to Type O Negative‘ „November Dust“ and „Swallow (Horror, Part 1)“ from the debut the end.

Singer Antti Hyyrynen of Stam1na watches the gloomy show from the back after chatting with fans. At the merchandise table, STS presents their official book and shirts (like with sayings about them: ‚What Is This?‘ ‚Play Metal!‘ ‚Hipster Shit..‘) next to records, patches and more from the other bands too. And documenting the Finnish Metal club evening visually are Rahel Gölzner (Krawall & Stille) for volume.at and Erik Stocker
