Another Sad Yet Fun Goodbye

Orange Goblin, Belzebong, Ultima Radio, Grey Czar

Dome Of Rock 2025 – Day Three & End Of Transmission 1995-2025 at Rockhouse Salzburg, Austria 20251129

During the dark season of the year, live music comes to life. In Salzburg, the Dome Of Rock is the three-days-celebration of the heavy sound with likes of HFTS the year before or Throne, Karg, Ellende and more in this edition. And the final evening even holds a very special farewell show, which makes the ‚big dome‘ burst at the seams.

Behold The Pit

The Rockhouse hall and the bar both open at 7 pm, and shortly after, the first band hits the stage already: Grey Czar released their latest album „Euarthropodia“ earlier this year. Their earthy sound and singing with several voices make think of Baroness, also thinking about the live power. They ‚don’t talk much‘, but thank for the invitation.

Following this perfect starter, Ultima Radio bring their own light setup like at Kramladen. At the entrance, they already gave away free CDs, and in the first row, three kids bang their heads like there is no tomorrow. UR are chasing and longing for a dream in the „Basement Session“ giving a pinch of NiN, and their masterpiece „Sheela“ from „A Thousand Shapes“ must not be missing.

Belzebong oder?!‘, they ask for the next act at a point in a line with Bongripper, Bongzilla and Dimmu Bongir. Rooted in Poland, they bring in another level of heaviness like to Roadtrip To Outta Space on Thursday: the drums are slamming, the guitars ringing, the overdrive hammering, and the brain adds the voices in the head to the instrumentals like the freshly released „420 Horsemen“.

OG From UK

Then it is time to celebrate a final time with Orange Goblin like back in NY. It is their last show on European mainland, before some more in UK with Grand Magus. In ’99, they toured the very venue with Cathedral, so they like to take it back to their debut with „Saruman’s Wish“ and forth again with „The Filthy & the Few“.

„Renegade“ they dedicate to Lemmy, continuing with „(Not) Rocket Science“ from their latest „Science, Not Fiction“. Their first single they released as split with Electric Wizard and dreamed of ‚how cool it would be to have a crowd from a different country‘ with the „Time Travelling Blues“.

They obviously enjoy themselves and singer Ben Ward cheers on the fans with the eyes wide open. As tribute to Ozzy, they add Black Sabbath’s „Into the Void“ before two final songs and Willie Nelson’s „On The Road Again“ as outro. Their dedication made this farewell show a blast.

No Hope ’Til O2

The only pity is, that there is no OG merchandise available, as they would have fantastic shirt and hoodie designs. And as Salzburg city invites to the aftershow with bars like the Celtics and Bricks, the Rockhouse holds especially Blues on the calendar with names like Hans Theessink or Aynsley Lister and more with Mike Massé, Yawning Man, Heckspoiler, Das Neue Leben or Colour Haze
