Spencer Hill Film Festival Day 3 Kino Bludenz Austria 20260516

It is very early in the morning, 10 am as the Spencer Hill festival in Bludenz opens. It is the third day, after a fantastic program including movie hits like „Piedone lo sbirro“. Even though it is raining and therefor pretty cold with snow on the mountains, the second room with about fourty seats is already completely crowded for „Double Trouble“. So after receiving a pen as present with the ticket, we take a seat in room one and watch „Banana Joe“.

For the hungry, beans, ‚Leberkäse‘ with beans, veggie burgers and more are served, and the Pizzeria Toscana even offers a pizza with beans. As there is a costume contest later, many doubles are around and take pictures with the happily smiling fans. But before that, the afternoon movies are „The sheriff and the satellite kid“ or „Sie nannten ihn Spencer“. Then Mads takes the open air stage in the middle of the street like the year before, soundchecking with Jimi Hendrix.

The weather meanwhile has gotten a bit better, but still cold. A tombola and an international movie poster raffle offer options to win tickets for the next edition, merchandise and more. From all the great doubles including Sam, Anulu, Farrah, Matt Kirby, Wilbur Walsh and others, the prize for the best costume goes to Moses from Burgenland. After, it is time for the final movie screening of the festival with „My Name is Nobody“ in room two and „Crime Busters“ in room one.

Back outside again, the Dune Buggy Band is the live highlight on the big event stage again. This year, they only appear as quartet, but songs like „They call him Trinity“ or „Flying Through The Air“ by Oliver Onions make the people dance. From the screen directly to the stage comes „Banana Joe“ and „Nobody“. More very danceable ones are „Grau Grau Grau“, „Freedom“ and „Sheriff“.

For the smash hit „Bulldozer“, doubles get on stage and with more great soundtracks like „Movin‘ Cruisin‘“ or „Supercop“, the festival slowly comes to an end. But the date for next year is already set: from 6th to 8th May 2027, the street and cinema in Bludenz will become again the El Dorado for Bud Spencer and Terence Hill film fans, and before, there will be even another event in Höchst (Spencer Hill Day on 27th June).
