Youthful Rock’n’Roll For Weirdos

Glazed Curtains, Off Lights, Arklight

„Claustrophobia“ Album Releaseshow presented by Tape Capitol Music & support by Rock Antenne, Flex Wien, Austria 20241123

Walking down the stairs to the Donaukanal, the noise of traffic gets less and makes place for peaceful silence. At Flex, where Caged Wolves or Curse presented by 50 Years Of Hip Hop appeared recently, Tape Capitol and Rock Antenne host a show of young guitar heroes.

Opener are Arklight, who celebrated their debut release at Dreiraum. The typography of their logo is up on the screen, a kick and one girl screams already „he is so cool!“ And she is right, the whole band is actually cool, delivering a wonderful show including songs like „Untied“ and „Blindfold“.

So it was already worth the trip, as another light is up next as support: Off Lights from Berlin exist since two years and brought their EP „Back To Life“ with them as well as the new single „Love You Sober“. They care a lot about a strong performance, and the final „Man or Machine“ is a highlight with its Duran Duran vibes.

Soundgarden and SOAD ring in the release of „Claustrophobia“, the second album by Glazed Curtains. It’s been some time since their gig at replugged. This tour lead them to stops like Graz, Aachen, Hannover, Prague and Munich. And they take it away immediately with act one: „Austria“.

The audience is with them, also in the pit for songs like „ADHD Fever“, „Show Me How It’s Done“ and „Plastic Bag“, how it is called on vinyl or ‚Bags‘ on Spotify. At some point they switch singer, getting the ‚hearts up!‘ After „Feels Like The End“, they continue with ‚some shit from the first album‘ „Excuse Me I Got Insomnia“ like „Jacob’s Got a Date“.

They point out, that everybody is welcome at their show, and make very friendly and funny announcements anyway. After a strong Rock’n’Roll night of the youth, the aftershow is on at Flex Café with Filthy Beatz or at Damenspitz with tracks of Oasis and Danko Jones.
