Dopes To A Better Dystopia Space Trip

While a big part of the subway guests head to Gasometer to see Paolo Nutini, a smaller part continues the ride. Because at ((szene)), another Heavy Rock icon after Corrosion Of Conformity returns to Europe like they did in 2009, 11, 13 and 20 presented by Mind Over Matter Music. 

As usual, the doors open quite punctually shortly after 7.30 pm. And just thirty minutes later, Saint Agnes (Spinefarm Records like VV, BLS and more) hit the boards of the stage. They have a similar Industrial Nu Metal Garage Rock flavour to Cassyette, Wargasm, King 810 and L7. Their songs have an intense energy like „At War With Myself“, „Animal“ or „Middle Finger“ from their upcoming album „Bloodsuckers“ or „Daughter of Lucifer“ from „The Family Strange“. As little extra, they serve a cover of „Firestarter“. 

In the middle of the audience you can spot a scene hero, while the guys from Monster Magnet (Napalm Records like Ahab, DevilDriver amongst others) hang around at their bus. They start their show with a cover as well by Hawkwind from their latest record „A Better Dystopia“. While the light was alternating for Saint Agnes, it mainly remains monochrome for each song now until the big final bang. Until then, Dave Wyndorf and his band make their audience sweat even more with a colourful mixture of „Dopes To Infinity“, „Powertrip“, „Negasonic Teenage Warhead“, „Spacelord“ and more. 

The heat in the hall is known especially when crowded like this, so the queues grow at the bars. Fortunately, the waitresses are very fast, so it only takes few minutes to get a drink and get back to see the wind of the fan in Dave’s hair. Doing this since 1989, Monster Magnet have lost none of their (live) fascination over thirty years later.
