Mittwoch (Single 2025)
Krawallamt
Frischer DeutschPunk Rock
Back some years ago, a storm moved through whole Vienna: It was Far From Autumn, a creative and loud Punkrock band. The members then continued in formations like Count Catfish or 90. And two original members now return under another name as well.
Peter and Marius teamed up again and hit the studio in October. Based in Pressbaum, they chose the t-on in Vienna for their new project Krawallamt – riot office, like in Krawall’o’Rock or Krawall & Stille. Their their red and black image logo shows a company with two chimneys, and another lettering is based on blue starry diamonds.
The cover of their debut single displays a bottle of high percentage alcohol in the dark. It is lying on the floor, between leaves, pointing to the light, that is kind of framed on the sides and top. The lyrics later on explain the picture for the song named „Mittwoch“.
Reminding of „Any Given Sunday“, it talks about the a free period every Wednesday at school. Youthful memories, being thirteen years old, getting out of class and drinking vodka in the park. Times when nothing really mattered, but boredom set in. Distorted chords do the same, getting muted for the verses and the vocals on top.
Those remind of Salò, VLUN, Max Schabl, Z.U.A. or du zahlst. Telling the story, with a certain frustration, lyrical twist and straightforwardness, as Punkrock was this way to deliver messages – always. For the office of riot, it is only the beginning. More songs are just waiting to be recorded until the end of the year.
In this way, Lower Austria has got a new Punk megaphone for its youth, that will be shreddered in the park or blast at the school. Because the Krawallamt is not only open on Mittwoch.
