Friday is highday and heatday. From the office to Escape, the sun burns down, making the Gürtel an oven. At the designated Metal venue, tonight will be a lot of Punk. Dead Kennedys, The Offspring and The Interrupters come from the speakers. And in the cooled basement, ‚a piece of Rock/Metal history‘ will celebrate 45 years of existence and still going with newer releases like „Murder Train“.
On their way from Czech Republic, Green Jellÿ bought all pool noodles they could find – and spent 500 euros, as singer Bill Manspeaker will claim later on. They are known for using gimmicks in their shows like General Surgery, Gutalax or Cumbeast. Back in the days, they even had to pay the cleaning, when they were sharing the stage with the Ramones.
Tonight, they bring everything inflatable anyone could imagine. A giant beaver Buc’ee is waiting already, accompanied by Spongebob Squarepants, a pumpkin, sharks, water ring, beachballs and much more. Half of the audience, Green Jellÿ send backstage, to dress as their muppets. As soon as they are ready, the chaos breaks loose.
63-year-old Bill Manspeaker conducts his band and fans as well: ‚This is my pool noodle! There are many like it, but this pool noodle is mine!‘, the army presents their pool noodles. If someone fails, this means ‚balls on head!‘ – including the frontman himself. Hits like „Jerk“ or the most famous „Three Little Pigs“ are celebrated frenetically, on stage and in front of.
Therefor, Green Jellÿ like to change positions: the whole band gets down to audience area, while they are all send to the stage. ‚Please take care of your bartenders‘, they demand as well and ‚Green Jellö sucks!‘ chants. At the end, the room is heated up as well and the show will remain unforgettable as huge fun with hot music and countless pool noodles.
