I See Words (Single 2026)

Ismena

Indie Folk Singer-Songwriter

(Heavy) music gives energy. Blast-beats make the body move, electrifying solos make one feel like in heaven. Same applies to smoother sounds like from classic stars as Andrea Bocelli. Even Metal bands like Slipknot found a softer side like in „Vermilion Pt. 2“. And then there are artists, who have the power to combine a certain atmosphere and melodies from early Hard Rock with light-footed Indie.

Ismena unfolded her skills on „This Time“ already. After „How Are You?“, „I See Words“ is the next single of her upcoming album „Please Don’t Ask Me How I’ve Been“. Talking ‚about creativity and love‘, the cover artwork by Dana Springer displays the letters interlaced in metamorphosing animals, a snake, a butterfly and a fish.

A discreet drumroll and plucked split chords open the song. The snare sets sweet accents, like instrumental breaks will do later on. Ismena’s vocals are wonderfully clear as usual, even at higher altitudes. Climbing notes remember of Black Sabbath’s „War Pigs“, while the several voices with choir character make think of Eels records „Daisies Of The Galaxy“ or „End Times“ and Maria Magdalena

Highlight is the thoughtful transition to the great chorus and the very subtle use of synthesizer parts. Like this, „I See Words“ makes the listener feel like lying in the grass, watching sheep clouds pass by on a clear blue sky, smelling the fresh ocean air, that only can mean it is a holiday.

So even when working, sitting at the office or elsewhere, the music of Ismena can set your mind to rest. Just for a few minutes, the heart is playing in another dimension and reality. Until the voice and guitar build a pretty conclusion for the song and fade, but the holiday feeling remains.
