Maniac Stage Monsters

The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, God Mother

Presented by Mind Over Matter, ((szene)) Wien, Austria 20170813

After the terrific traffic accident of The Dillinger Escape Plan, that lead to the cancellation of this show in first place, finally it was time for the replacement schedule. Because it will be the last club show in Austria in general as the group is going to disband at the end of the year, the people are more than happy, that this gig was not cancelled without substitution.

And so the people show up motivated already for the first support God Mother from Sweden. These maniacs are performing such a memorable show with a level of energy that is incredible. Singer Sebastian Campbell climbs every fence, girder or speaker, everything that is possible to climb. Meanwhile the band delivers a sound that is hard to put in words, simply amazing.

After this crazy first set, The Number Twelve Looks Like You show their version of Mathcore. After some years of abstinence, they are back like they never have been away. Their energetic sound contains so many genres and therefore reminds of other big groups like System Of A Down or in the jazzy parts for example of Rollins Band. Getting off the stage too, singer Jesse Jase Korman celebrates with a happy audience.

And then, after this great preparation, it is time for the legend itself. The Dillinger Escape Plan, whose name to many is more famous then the eponym John Dillinger himself, now show why they embraced their fans for twenty years now. Even people who are not really into this kind of music are full of respect for their skills and tightness. Highlights of their set are “Milk Lizard” as well as “Surrogate” and “Happiness Is A Smile”.

But not just the single songs are awesome, after all the whole evening is a fast paced adventure driven by maniac stage monsters.
