Live Music Christmas Party For The Good Cause

gab&gal

Weihnachtskonzert gab&gal + friends, Spielboden Kantine, Dornbirn, Austria 20191220

At the city of Dornbirn and especially at the Spielboden it’s high concert season before Christmas. Scheibsta & die Buben are doing their final honor in Vorarlberg with the linksabbiega in town. The Ski-Schuh-Tennis-Orchestra invites to their traditional PreSilvesterParty. At the Schlachthaus, the Antichristmassacre goes down for the eighth time with Ewïg Frost, Discopowerboxxx and Rubéc, while another local act gathers to their Christmas show.

gab&gal are working intensely on their third record, which will be released in autumn 2020, when singer gab returns from his next trip abroad, as they tell. For this night, they have prepared a special set or better two of them, featuring old companions and more special guests. In fact, only their live guitarists Mathias Kollos (Great Red Silence) and, performing with the band since this summer, Samuel Keßler are missing. Nevertheless, they start the gig with the first guest Thomas Gallaun on percussions.

The twenty-songs-special-set begins with a trinity of all records. “Second Friend” from “Aurora” is the opener, “London Town” from “Feronia” comes next, followed by “June” from the forthcoming new album and “It Keeps Me Down”, the first song of the formation. Their gig also features their covers of Drake, Gorillaz and Ben E. King. Highlights in the first part are “Time Is Relative”, “Alone In This” and “See You Everywhere”.

After a short break, gab returns alone for “Create My Voice”, then joined by gal for “Have U Ever” and “Picture Me” and after few more ending the live show with “Happier One”. In the meantime, their former keyboarder Simon Radoczai joins them for some songs instead of Sebastian Schweiger (LAUT, 2seedsleft), bassist Felix Kraxner’s brother Valentin works on the drums and Julia Hummer (Juleah, Finn Parker) plays the guitar.

gab&gal converted the Spielboden Kantine to a frisky Christmas party location, with not too much Christmas but a lot of good-mood Pop Rock and cherry on the cake, the Gallaun brothers gal and Thomas spin the turntables with vinyls from the 60s to the 80s. Plus everything happened in order for a free donation, that the band collected for the Hilfswerk Dornbirn.
