The number is two
Out Of Nothing, Masters Of Schlamassel
Arena Beisl Erdberg Wien, Austria 20240308
March 8 – International Women’s Day. And an eventful Friday. At Weberknecht, the Flinta Fightclub hosts two shows. Unders and Escape Metalcorner celebrate their birthdays. Ivery releases her new single and Guadalajara announces the first tour since almost twenty years. Vulvarine, DJ Shadow, Zara Larsson and more play throughout the city. And two heavy rocking bands invite to Arena Beisl Erdberg after work, while Booze & Glory are at the small hall.
Antiseen blast through the speakers to the yard. Then both bands do their soundcheck and bit later, Masters of Schlamassel are the ones to start. Short MOS or better MoSCH (like to mosh), they went through changes since their gig at replugged, where they will return in a week. Their singer and bassist has left, but luckily they could find two formidable replacements. So they are able to present seven songs and a cover, and as encore, they repeat the first one.
Their Riff-Rock transports stories on Trieste, Italy, or the famous stoner appetite. The beer on the pizza box on the dustbin appears as a symbol. Then Out Of Nothing follow, who supported Nightstalker, wrecked the very place with Lowbau before and played Rock Like Hell Vol. 8 presented by Musicjunky Bookings at Café Carina. Tonight, they play all of their compositions, some of them to be released as EP mastered at Grindhouse Studios Athens, starting with the earworm „Corporate Cannibal“.
The four-piece consisting of Mr. Nothing, Voidhex, Drumkid Kittner and Mortn is visibly at ease and delivers a great late-night-show in front of a pretty crowded Beisl. One song they adress to leading politicians and next to more own highlights like „Psychedelic King“ and „Wrecking Lifes“, they unpack the acoustic guitar for „Hung My Head“ and another personal favorite moment is „Just ’Cos You Got the Power“ of immortal Motörhead.
While the after work continues after those two excellent shows with sounds by Status Quo, the Viper Room attracts with Jumpdafuckup on two floors. And on the calendar of the Beisl are Little Hole Filled, Dim Prospects, The Shaftons, Escalpo, The Muddy Moon and Gusch amongst others.
