Chain Reaction (Music Video 2025)
Ruhmer
Alternative Indie Fuzz Pop Soul Rock Singer-Songwriter
Life is a constant fight. Sometimes even against oneself. This is the topic of the single and video „Chain Reaction“, promoted by Superlife Promo (Drunken Pumpkins, Indigohead, Anna Katt, Commander Jules, Wagner The Band, ¡Tilt! and more).
After „20-22“, several EPs and the debut „Cherryland“, Ruhmer announces his second full-length entitled „The Masterplan“. Lately on stage solo and acoustic at Bar:hocker, he will play another unplugged show at Ranch zum Unterm Riadbom Feldkirch and full band ones in Graz, Wien, Innsbruck, Schaffhausen, Dornbirn and Linz presented by Radio Superfly.
Two singles are out already: „Spaghetti At The Wall“ and „Ain’t Used To Talkin’“ featuring Ivery. Number three „Chain Reaction“ starts with kind of a gaming sound and scratching like Limp Bizkit. The strong rhythm reminds of the earlier release „Pen Love“ and names like Jack White and The Black Keys with Beck.
The beat and refrain sound like typical Ruhmer, straight and inviting to shake, with a pinch of Jim Noir. At the outro part, spacy noises bring up Air and round up this great Pop Rock hit. And as the song is fun already, the video by Philip Zeller (Nous Film) adds another layer.
Vulcanic surroundings like the Timanfaya national park in Lanzarote or Fuerteventura have their own fascination. Ruhmer jumps in and slides, with his hair like Vincent Vega. During the clip, he hunts down another version of himself, shot like a Jump ‘n‘ Run or Cartoon. Like the ‚Ha!‘ shout, the kicks make think of the very first single „Kill Me Now“.
Getting into the fight with himself, the image brings up „All The Way Boys“. The final pose like a crane or snake is of „The Karate Kid“ or „Kill Bill“. And for those who like their music on a physical copy, the song on the album is out on crystal blue vinyl.
