SEBi!, Here For A Reason, Resistant
Welcome To Rockstar’s Paradise, Kramladen Wien, Austria 20210811
It’s a wonderful summer evening, as our way takes us to one of the favourite likeable places at the Gürtel, the Kramladen. The big Pop Punk bands like Blink-182, Offspring, Green Day or Sum41 are still active, international ones Bankrupt currently work on a community video to free Michael Kovrig and the Austrian ones meet tonight.
Among those, the Pop Punk Community formed its own network and event series. The motto of this concert is “Welcome To Rockstar’s Paradise”. As first band Resistant warm up their fans who arrive in their shirts with intense and bassy Rock, that shifts from Ska to headbanger parts talking about work and karma. As surprise they cover Bryan Adams, and at the end premiere “In Control”, coming closer to American Hi-Fi.
Here For A Reason is one of the signboards of the local scene, being at the forefront at e.g. the Pirates Days and doing features with likes of Romance Dawn. Unfortunately drummer Marcos is injured and plays his part via the computer. But still the hits like “The Fly”, “Throwback” and “2020 C.K.M.I.T.B.” together with the evening’s headliner ensure the good mood. They tell about their first gig four years ago at the B72 and play a cover with another guest singer and then get to their final with “Someday”.
With SEBi!, the night comes to its last item on the agenda. The friendly singer was welcoming his guests on his own at the beginning. On stage, he sings of his dreams in the title song of the event like Weezer or of “Quarterbacks & Cadillacs”. His partners are Unger Klaus of Seek & Destroy on bass, Alexander Schuster of Yellow Shelf Music on guitar and Johannes Gungl of Schwanara and Spicy Trisha Band on drums. More highlights are the Wheatus cover and guest singers from HFAR and So Much More, plus the stage dive. So finally everything a Pop Punk party needs is just right there.
