Summer Breeze Open Air 2018 – Announcement

Dinkelsbühl, Germany, 20180815-18

In ancient times people had to live in tents.. And they went to the battlefield because in some way they had to. Nowadays, people exist who do the same things on purpose. Maybe to kind of honor the ancestors. But especially to honor their musical heroes. On the battlefield of the Summer Breeze Open Air.

It all came down in history…

For those days, this area near the medieval town of Dinkelsbühl feels not just like the middle of Germany, but like the middle of the universe. The power of Heavy Metal Music is concentrated on this patch of earth. And for the 21st time, the Summer Breeze organizers managed to compile a diverse Line-Up, that covers the whole range of Metal and therefore makes it one of the best Festivals for fans of all subgenres.

Starting with the big names on the bill, Arch Enemy is one guarantee for an amazing headbanger’s party. Another one is Cannibal Corpse, as are their genre colleagues of Kataklysm, Origin and Carnifex. Talking about party, one should also try to catch Thrash titans Exhorder , Warbringer, Nervosa and Tankard, for the heavy rocking ones Powerwolf, W.A.S.P. and Kadavar and for the big fun moments Danko Jones, Alestorm as well as Korpiklaani. What was just a small part of the endless list of highlights.

Going on with Team Hardcore, consisting of Sick Of It All, Suicidal Tendencies, Municipal Waste and drifting to Metalcore Jinjer. What brings us to less known but totally recommendable acts like Sibiir, Rolo Tomassi, Pallbearer, Forever Still and Harakiri for the sky. Like this we are floating into another spheres, what is also possible with Sólstafir and AUÐN. Getting more and more to the evil destruction section of the bill: Behemoth, Satyricon, Marduk and Bloodbath are responsible for the darkest masses.

…now you better dare to choose

Obviously it is not possible to list all the forthcoming moments of salvation. But two very special ones for sure will be the fourth show at the holy grounds of Orphaned Land, and also Phil Campbell and The Bastard Sons will provide a bit a pain relief for all who miss Lemmy. And just to round this package up, seven magnificent names you might have heard of too: Sepultura, Trivium, Papa Roach, Dirkschneider, Doro, Paradise Lost and Goatwhore. Now you decide!
