Hold Me Close (Single 2026)

Solar Noir

Indie Rock

Love is nothing to take for granted. Especially in spring time it seems that relationships are likely to crumble or worst case even break apart. But now here comes something for all you faithful out there like „Someday I’ll Be Saturday Night“.

After „Constraints“, „The Car“, „Virtue Signaling“, „You’re The One“ and „Teufelsbach“, Solar Noir present their next single „Hold Me Close“. They played shows at Loop, G5, Arena Beisl or Carina and therefor performed the song already e.g. back at Kramladen (that was featured on TV).

The Titel reminiscents of DuoLia. and their song „Hold Me One Last Time“. The image composition of the artwork reminds of and Vøvk their „Litera“ design concept. On top is the title in big letters, centered a photograph displaying singer Mélissa Fondeur looking in direction of a man next to her.

Following a ‚cinematic late-night rock aesthetic‘, her look is of hope but with a ‚constant, quiet fear of losing it [the relationshipt] at any moment‘. An old-school lamp shade is prominent above and enlightens the image, while below is the band-name.

Musically the song is carried by soft guitar, piano and vocals. In the beginning are cymbals, before a break leads to the chorus with full drum set and ear worm character similar to likes of Ivery or Ismena. Core of the song forms a solo with shaking rhythm and voices are arranged in the background.

„Hold Me Close“ is a song that hugs its listener like „Now And Then“ or „Manchild“ by Eels. It gives the hope, even though of course it is not able to completely defy the fear of loss. But Solar Noir manage to put a smile on one’s face, and as the chorus gets stuck in the brain, it is even for longer period.
