Two days after the fabolous Ivery release show, it is time to return for a double Club Lucia weekend. As Monday is off, this Sunday is Gürtel Connection #18.
As usual, the entry is free donation, and all the money collected goes to certain organizations: the Gruft taking care of the homeless and Queer Base – Welcome and Support for LGBTIQ Refugees. Fourteen locations therefor present over sixty acts and DJs, like The Fictionplay or Great Rift in former years.
This year, we start with Sleep In The Shine. They convince their audience with strong Hip Hop beats to dance to like Mo Cess & Chrisfader. The duo consisting of Boltn and Carmine Nicely is accompanied by Harry Dean Lewis on decks. And they have good news, as they announce an album and a single for June.
From Hip Hop, the program then shifts to Folk. Yunger played at Gürtel Connection before, but for the first time with his band featuring Stella For Strangers, Matthäus Siebenhofer and Timay. Together, they unfold their energy beginning with „Whatcha Gonna Do“, „Keep Walking“ and „Where Did Our Punk Rock Days Go“.
For some parts, the crowd helps them out and sings with them. With „I Won’t Let You Fall“, they present a brand-new song, „Golden Waves“ includes some loops and „Never Ending Holiday“ is a highlight again. „Moments“ Yunger dedicates to everyone making the Gürtel Connection happen.
Finally he plays „Winds of Paris“ solo, dedicated to John Butler and Bianca’s nail studio in third district. After festival appearance like at KiK Open Air, Nova Rock or Acoustic Campfire, Yunger will be back in town at Summerstage. Meanwhile, the Gürtel got crowded as a whole and broiling in the summerly heat.
Last act at Lucia is binary_boy presented by Tape Capitol like Orange Skies and more this night. Known from tribute shows like Kurt Cobain Live and supporting Mother’s Cake, they perform Industrial Electronic Alternative Rock.
