„Don’t forget us. We are Motörhead. And we play Rock’n’Roll!“ Lemmy used to say at the end of concerts. There’s a constant fear, to be forgotten after one’s death. But for example certain songs can keep the memory alive. „case closed“ is one, that revolves right around this topic. 

With superlifepromo (Ruhmer, Vanessa Jung and more) at their back, Stray Ends unleash their fourth single. After „Weighty Wings“, „Breath“ and proggy Post Hardcore hymn „Different Shades, New Lanes“, „case closed“ is a heavy piece, screaming to the heart in devastation. 

The x-ray on the record cover maybe displays an injured shoulder with screws in the collarbone. A memorable incident for sure. And not apparent at first glance. Like a clear musical direction, as Stray Ends incorporate Alternative Metal and Post Hardcore in their Nu Gaze. 

There goes the first note, and the drums hammer at full speed, putting strain on the hammer in the ear canal. It’s chaos music can cause, some might stress but others might relax. Extreme Metal, sinister and cold like Oranssi Pazuzu, but with a beauty making one smile. 

As the bass slaps and the screams echoe, a Post Punk part gives a little rest, not loosing focus on sounds, aspirating, cooling down. Before the hammering returns, giving the head a feeling like on other x-ray artworks like „Come In and Burn“ by Rollins Band or „The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste“ by Ministry. 

Alien sounds like from „Star Wars“ or „The Sheriff and the Satellite Kid“ end the full body experience. Stray Ends can take their listener over completely. Hailing from Munich, Bavaria, a comparison with their compatriots Vaataja seems apt, like the one by superlifepromo with Deftones. Post Rock and Extreme Noise heads will love it.
