Online Christmas Spirit Delight

Carlos

Oh Palmenbaum 2.0 – Weihnachtskonzert für einen guten Zweck, YouTube Live Stream, Austria 20211219

As the year is coming slowly to its end, a band decided to play a Christmas concert online. Just like the year before, when Verena (Ivery) and Simon (KessKess) played together, but this time, the whole band is assembled.

Supplemented with Lukas (Rayjam) and Thomas (The Teddy Boys), they are Carlos. In this formation, they perform a set of rocking Christmas songs similar to the one of last time. Like this, they want to surpass themselves and collect more money than 2100 euro to donate to the organizations Stand By Me Lesvos and Footprint.

Starting the stream, a fire is burning, which is displayed in the television in the back of the room. Then they start directly, while comments keep coming in. They tell that they are nervous like the year before and that they want to make it as interactive as possible with the chat. So their fans and friends even tune in from Italy or enjoy it while being on a train.

Carlos played many weddings during summer and today, they met at two in the afternoon already. Not necessarily to the delight of the neighbors, as they tell. And they thank everyone who made the stream possible. One of the first songs is „Driving Home For Christmas“. To bring in the Christmas spirit, the percussion with bells is important, so Lukas plays a headless tambourine with his foot and the cajon with brushes.

More songs are „Merry Christmas Everyone“, „Thank God It’s Christmas“, „Run Rudolph Run“ by Chuck Berry or Buckcherry as they joke, „Blue Christmas“ and „Rocking Around The Christmas Tree“. About „Wonderful Christmastime“, Simon can even tell its history, that Paul McCartney had bought a new synthesizer, and the first thing that came to his mind was this song.

Another track by a Beatle is „Happy Xmas (War Is Over)“, and as third „Home Alone“-title Carlos perform „Jingle Bell Rock“. After the second successful and relaxing Christmas concert live stream, they announce a new edition in the next year.
