Lässig (Music Video 2023)

gab&gal

Indie Pop Singer-Songwriter

‚Our heads are round so our thoughts can change direction‘ is a famous quote by artist Francis Picabia. Sometimes things need a change or another input. Switching from English to dialect can be a brave step for a music group. So while Ankathie Koi and Prototyper release new singles, here comes the follow up of „June“ in Vorarlberger language by your favorite four-to-six-piece duo.

For gab&gal, their music has always been sparkled with humor and looking for happiness. So they make a time travel back to the 90s, the era of tamagotchis, music and video cassettes and the beginning of the gameboy and playstation in their clip for „Lässig“. Shot on a Sony Alpha 6400, the band bought extra for reasons like this, singer gab himself edited in an app found on social media. And in his mother tongue, he seems to feel comfortable.

‚Es tuat ma ned leid, i bin lässig.‘ gab&gal know how it is, with ‚sunnabrülla uf‘ and ‚da Sound isch nice‘. The Massive Töne were ‚die coolsten, wenn wir cruisen‘ like this already. With the same self-mockery and in the cheeky dialect like George Nussbaumer, Schellinski and Philipp Lingg, burnouts are put down on the dirt road with a bicycle tire.

With a considerable interval of two years, „Lässig“ is the third single of the finally upcoming third record „Fifty – Fuchzge“. The way turned out a little bit longer because of the new direction taken with the dialect as language among other things since „See You Everywhere“ and the already mentioned „June“.

The musicians obviously are happy with their decision. The two main protagonists of the band present themselves in colorful 90s clothing in the video. Unlike many others, they don’t lean against big cars but contemporary climate-consciously against the bicycle – without electric motor.

As lightning strikes, fire burns and pizza and a gameboy pass by, the humor could be taken from likes of Gospel Dating Service or Magic Delphin. The vintage effect reminds of their very first piece „It Keeps Me Down“. And gab&gal use the same location again, they already had in their nostalgic clip „Glass Of Wine“ from 2015.
