Believer (Single 2022)

Ivery

Alternative Pop

As „Lost Dreams“ seem to fade away, it is time to remember. Remember someone we miss. Whether a friend or family member. Here is the song to start to believe it can get better.

Flute and synths, Verena Koppendorfer alias Ivery plays on her own on this new single „Believer“. And again, she gathered several close artists to realize her music and the video for it. On guitar, we hear Simon Blankenbichler (Carlos, V.City Sounds), on bass Tobias Pöcksteiner (Animal Machine, Kontrapunk) and drums and production are by Michael Schatzmann (Almost Famous, Tape Moon i.a.).

The mastering of the super fine modern Pop Rock sound comes from Wolfgang Stieger. Especially the strumming guitar is very subtle and smooth, making think of Temper Trap or LILI (Good Wilson). Also we have some power chords and of course the refrain is the highlight on top. Ivery’s voice is both, soft and dreamlike yet strong at the same time. So „Believer“ melts the verve of Alice Gold or Asteroids Galaxy Tour with the emotions of e.g. „Missing You“ of Brandy, Tamia, Gladys Knight and Chaka Khan, and turns it to positive.

Like Juleah did for „Eat Sleep Sun“, video producer Veronika Sterrer (no:no) put on a Super 8 camera for the music video of the song, also starring cellist Ida Leidl. The lettering comes from Julia Grubhofer. With the vintage look, the clip intensifies the Indie Britpop indentation. Vintage, but still juvenile, as the camera follows the two friends Verena and Ida in a nature scenery.

And this is, where the strenght seems to come from to believe: to be together with loved people. Share memories. And maybe wrap those up in a piece of music to make others remember and think further. Ivery’s „Believer“ provides this possibility to open up oneself.
