hörbar at iX moments Dornbirn, Austria 20260313
Not only in Vienna, it is possible to experience live music almost every day. Around this ides of March in Vorarlberg, H-Blockx play at Conrad Sohm, in Feldkirch is rundklang, Filiah teams up with Junipa Gold at S-MAK and at Chybulski is Kammermusik session. And Friday 13th is hörbar in Dornbirn.
This free event brings ten acts to various venues within the city like Schwefel Marie to Tivoli or LOU to the 7er bar. gab&gal often played rundklang at Shamrock before. This year, they changed to Jahnhalle, part of KARE GmbH like the iX, they honor for hörbar. Their history goes back to their first rehearsal around 2012. With their latest album „Fifty-Fuchzge“, they made a step towards dialect music, and at bugo library session, they even performed a full set in dialect.
But this night at iX, they present a best of all their history in three sets. As the redtaurant is fully booked, it takes great luck to get a table next to the stage. The first set includes four dialect songs already with „Passt scho“, „Bisch des würkle du“, „Klele Ruah“ and „Zit zruckdreha“.
„London“ is ‚a real banger‘ as a guest puts it, „A House Where I Can Stay“ spreads homey feelings and „Ain‘t No Sunshine“ is the first cover. Set two starts with „See You Everwhere“ and „June“. „Für mi“ the duo dedicates to everyone who has a little vhild at home. Usually they perfor as quartett, but this time, gab has to intonize the guitar solo in „Leaba“ followed by „15 Years“.
After „Es isch wia as isch“, gal gives a little lesson in Montafon dialect where he works. In set three, they present some more classics like „Alone In This“ „Happier One“ or „Death“ – including a cajon escalation – and covers like „Seaside“ by The Kooks. While downstairs at Market33/Vakanz the club night begins with like of Destiny‘s Child, gab&gal bring this mighty-fine evening to an appropriate end.
